Connected characters: Ramses
History:
Born the younger of her three siblings (one of which died at birth), Akaela has always looked up to her older brother, Ramses, even though these days, she kind of has to look down to see him. She protected him when he was young, as she was already pretty large, even at that age, and when any of their older siblings (from previous litters) would try to tease him, she'd be right there to defend him. They'd tease her, too, but she'd take it like a champ. When Ramses decided he wanted to leave their family (pack), she insisted on coming with him, despite his protests, meant for her "own good." The two struck out on their own, and Ramses found himself a mate. Akaela helped take care of their young, and even though a few males tried to court her, she turned them all down. Her brother wanted her to go form her own pack, but she stayed, saying she was happiest when with her family. When a pack of hunting dogs came after the pack, Akaela was torn between leading her brother's mate and offspring to safety and keeping the dogs at bay with him. However, at his command, she went with his family, and once they were on a safe path away from the conflict, she went right back to Ramses. She seemed to come just in time, as the dogs were tearing her brother apart, and something so fierce came over her that she felt truly angry for the first time and tore into the dogs, killing and wounding half of them. They couldn't get to her vitals due to her thick fur, and those who could no longer stand her rending fangs either died or fled with their lives while they still could. She helped nurse her brother back to health, alongside his mate, not paying attention to her own wounds (though he did). A few days later, a carcass showed up on the edge of their territory. Akaela stayed with her brother while his mate and cubs went off to eat and bring some back for them since he couldn't move much still. None of them returned, and when Akaela went to check on them, she found the wolves all dead, poisoned. Now, it's just her and her brother again, against the rest of the world until one of them settles down again. |
AkaelaName: Akaela
Species: Yukon x Mackenzie Valley wolf Age: 4 years Gender: female Height: 102cm Weight: 85kg Appearance: Akaela is a large wolf, and her thick coat lends to her size and makes her appear even larger. Her pelt is a blackish color with browns on top and white markings on her back, face, and paws. Her eyes are an olive green, and any scarring she has on her body (from the dog fight or otherwise) is mostly covered with fur and not so visible. She has a thick muzzle and blocky head and could easily be mistaken for a male. Personality: Submissive Realistic: helpful, steadfast, responsible, eager to please, anxious, awkward, hesitant, protectiveAkaela has a large heart to match her huge frame. She's awkward when it comes to others mentioning her size, and she doesn't always like being so big. She's afraid she scares others, even though she wouldn't intentionally hurt anyone under normal circumstances. When others back away out of fear, due to her size (when she's not trying to purposely intimidate anyone), she lowers her head and leans down to try to seem smaller, and she'll speak to them kindly, so they can see she's not there to hurt them. She's protective of those she loves more than she is of herself. She shows off her size and growls if anyone threatens her friends, and she'll attack viciously if the threat is physical and there's no other way around it. She may not know her own strength sometimes, but when someone she cares for is in danger, she will tear into anyone who wishes to do them physical harm. She doesn't start fights over words, however, and will only bare a fang or growl and try hard to convince them to not speak ill with her words. Sometimes, before a conflict gets too out of hand, she'll place a heavy paw on the offender or sit on him/her so, if they're smaller, they'll be still and quiet down. She would do anything to please those she cares for, so long as it didn't clash with her own morals. Akaela loves pups and babies of all kinds. If she were more inclined to find a mate, she would go out and have a dozen--if possible. She has helped raise cubs before (her brother's), so she's not inexperienced. She is extra careful when around young ones and will usually use the tip of her nose to interact, so not to accidentally hurt anyone by her size or strength. Her size says nothing about her gentle and caring nature, and if she weren't a predatory animal, she probably wouldn't hurt a fly, if she could help it. Being that she must kill to eat, she tends to try to kill the animals they hunt quickly and efficiently, so they do not suffer. She's been known to let mothers with babies go, despite protests from the other wolves in the pack, but she tries to make up for the lost kill by finding something else to eat. Likes: babies of all kinds (especially wolf cubs), sunshine, water, cool autumns Dislikes: lightning/thunder, being treated like a monster or a male, scaring others she doesn't mean to scare, dogs Other: She is interested in both males and females, but she'd be fine being on her own, as long as she somehow ended up with pups. |
