James McLeary
|
Born in the northeast city of Celam, James grew up in a rough neighborhood. Despite that, he tried to make the best of it and would often visit his mother's workplace at the zoo's herpetarium. As he got older, however, he began to notice his father becoming more stressed, then more and more angry, and finally: violent.
His parents faced a divorce when he was fifteen, but his dad killed his mom before it could go through. His father was arrested, and James went to live with his grandmother in the Bering City (northwest U.S.). There he got addicted to heroin until his grandmother found out and sent him to a drug treatment facility. During this time, he received Kate (his Brazilian rainbow boa) as a gift from his grandmother (who, despite not liking snakes, knew a pet might do him good). When he could move out at eighteen, he had stopped doing drugs (for the most part) and began acquiring them to sell on the streets. Eventually, he got enough money to hire others, and after years of dedication, he formed a group that smuggled drugs in and out of the areas in and around the city.
He met a nosey little "hero" when he was reaching the peak of his business, but he put her her place relatively soon after she started bothering him. However, she slowly started to become more of a threat since she learned from past experiences.
Lately, he's started to take her more seriously so he won't get arrested, but he still keeps his wits about him and so far hasn't served the time she and the law believe he rightfully deserves.
He gained two kids (current age: eight, names: Rosa and Maria) from an ex-girlfriend of his fresh out of rehab. They live a few cities away now, as the mother (and James) wanted them to stay far away from his work so that they wouldn't be caught in the fray. The children are two twin girls who both love their father very much, as he can be rather caring when it comes to kids now. Of course, he can't see them too often, but when he does, he makes sure that the meetings are top secret since most under his control don't know he even has kids. He doesn't want anything to happen to them, but he still wants to be a good father, despite that the mother doesn't really want him bringing his trouble around.
He has another daughter, Renae, who is autistic. She lives with him because her mother died in a car crash. He has a soft spot for her and spoils her, but he is careful to keep her away from his work.
His side/cover job is working as an underground bar manager. It's a rather seedy joint, but it's to be expected with his other profession.
