Connected character: Grey
Defining characteristics of the species:
They're larger than a puma but smaller than a leopard and live in social, family groups. They live in the southeastern States, in the deep woods and cypress swamps and feed on any species they can catch. However, they actively avoid domesticated animals and contact with humans. They're highly intelligent for big cats and prefer to ambush prey from trees and other high places. They make a variety of noises between one another, but they are quiet around most other species, unless threatened. They're a nomadic species and can adapt to most environments. Corax, like most of her kind, has iridescent, glossy, black fur which "changes" color in different lighting, though it usually takes on color like an oil slick--purples, blues, and greens. She has longer, rough fur on her throat and just behind her shoulder blades, and she has a medium length tail. She's average for her species but unique in appearance from other big cats
Facts about Corax:
She tends to be seen alone, but because her species is a social one, she often gets lonely and sometimes tries to be friendly (albeit awkwardly) with other species. She can be seen with her guardian/companion, Soli, at times, but because Soli is a lot more solitary than her, she'll often leave Corax behind while she does her own thing.
She can "talk," but she doesn't tend to say much. It takes a lot for her to warm up to strangers, though she has a curious nature and will watch from afar for a long time before getting closer. She's not very confident while interacting with others and may back off quickly if things don't seem to be going well. Despite that, when she has gotten to know another well enough to trust them, she'll come back to them again and again, even if she does need to wander off on her own for a bit. That said, she's not cuddly or too likely to do much other than follow another around or sit beside/near them.
She's pretty smart, for the standards of her species, and she's pretty good at figuring out solutions to problems. However, she can be forgetful and has been known to accidentally leave a kill stashed in a tree...then forget which tree it was in.
